Surf Swimming Fundamentals

Canceled for the 2021/2022 season due to a very busy calendar 
We will endeavour to run this session next season, in the mean time check out what else we have on offer!

This season Papamoa Surf Life Saving Club will be running a one-off session on the fundamentals of Surf Swimming in Baywave Aquatic Centre’s wave pool.  

By attending this opportunity, participants will gain an improved understanding of how to efficiently manoeuvre them selfs in open water.

Cost: Baywave Pool entry 

Depending on numbers and skills we will split the group into 2 or 3 smaller groups across three 40min sessions to better target certain skills. Once, we have a confirmation of numbers, will confirm session times via facebook.


  • All participants must be planning to or be registered as a current member of  Papamoa’s Junior Surf for the coming season.
  • Participants must be 7 years of age as of the 1st of October this year.
  • Participants must have a supervising adult watching at all times
  • Participants in the U9 and above must be able to swim at least 50m unaided.

200m Badge
In order to make this opportunity accessible, a 200m badger will not be required, depending on numbers we may split the group in two based on who has their 200m badge or not.
