Good Luck Trelise
This weekend, the International Surf Rescue Challenge (ISRC) brings the world’s best surf lifesavers to Mount Maunganui for three days of intense racing and team competition.
Representing New Zealand as a Junior Black Fin, Pāpāmoa’s own Trelise Chote will take on athletes from Australia, South Africa, USA, and more, in a showcase of speed, skill, and surf lifesaving excellence.
We asked Trelise what this moment means to her:
“To watch myself grow from a little nipper into a Junior Black Fin, stepping foot on home soil and racing not only for myself but for the whānau and team behind my back.”
And what’s she most excited about?
“Being able to spend these first 3 days on camp bonding as a squad and feeling the privilege and pressure that comes with high performance racing. Not often will I get to learn from the best and race against the best. I hope to keep my head strong and my heart on the fern – racing with integrity for the sport that has carried me along my journey.”
Event Dates: Thursday 27 – Sunday 30 November
Location: Mount Maunganui Main Beach
