Oceans '26 Festival of Junior Lifesaving - this week at Pāpāmoa
We’re proud to be hosting the Oceans ’26 Festival of Junior Lifesaving from Thursday to Sunday at Pāpāmoa Surf Club! We’re welcoming around 700 junior athletes, along with their families and supporters, for one of the biggest events on the SLSNZ calendar.
It’s going to be a huge, exciting week on our beach — we’d love to see you down here supporting the action!
SWIM BETWEEN THE FLAGS
If you want to swim but avoid the busy event area, the designated public swimming area will be located at the west end of the arena (towards the Mount) near the Papamoa Pony Club. This is the ONLY patrolled area and the safest area to swim during the four event days.
Please remember:
• Always swim between the red and yellow flags
• If you see someone in trouble and there are no lifeguards in sight → call 111
• If you need help → raise your hand
PARKING & ROAD CLOSURES
Parking: will be very restricted around the Pāpāmoa Domain
Closures:
- The road outside the club (from Bluebiyou) is closed until Monday morning
- The Domain Road carpark and the large grass area off Papamoa Beach Road are both closed to the public
- We highly recommend walking, biking, or scootering if you can - it’ll be much easier.
It’s shaping up to be an awesome four days — thanks in advance to our community for your support, patience, and positive energy. Let’s make Oceans ’26 one to remember!
