Pāpāmoa Athletes Named in SLSNZ Performance Squads for 2026
Pāpāmoa Surf Life Saving Club is incredibly proud to announce that four of our athletes have been selected for the Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) Ocean and Beach Performance Squads for 2026. This is a fantastic achievement and an exciting opportunity for these athletes as they progress along the national high‑performance pathway.
Selected Athletes
U19 Performance Squad
- Trelise Chote
- Isobella Davoren
U17 Performance Squad
- Luke Gillbanks
- Oliver Pepers
Selection into an SLSNZ Performance Squad recognises athletes who have demonstrated outstanding commitment, performance, and potential throughout the summer lifesaving sport season. These four have put in an enormous amount of work over many years, and their dedication to both their training and their team has been a pleasure to watch.
SLSNZ’s newly refreshed performance pathway introduces a clearer structure aligned with domestic age groups, progressing through U17, U19 and Open squads. This model is designed to provide athletes with defined development stages, targeted competitions, and meaningful benchmarks on the journey toward senior international competition. Being selected at this level places our athletes firmly within the national pathway and provides valuable opportunities for growth, learning, and exposure to high‑performance environments.
Our selected athletes are not only excelling individually, but also helping to lift the standard of both our junior and senior squads at Papamoa. They are outstanding role models within our club and show what is achievable through hard work, resilience, and teamwork.
Congratulations to Trelise, Isobella, Luke and Oliver on this well‑deserved recognition. We also acknowledge Jake and our dedicated coaches for the time, energy, and belief they continue to invest in supporting these athletes on their journey. We wish them all the very best as they continue to develop within Pāpāmoa and as part of the SLSNZ performance pathway in 2026.
