We Need More Surf Officials

This season we’ve got our biggest-ever crew of surf sports athletes—from juniors to seniors to masters. It’s awesome to see, but we need your help to make sure everyone gets the chance to compete!

WHY WE NEED YOU:
For every 10 athletes, we need 1 official. Without enough officials, we may have to limit entries to carnivals—and we don’t want that!

YOU DON’T NEED TO BE A LIFEGUARD
✅ No lifeguard qualification required
✅ Open to parents, grandparents, friends—anyone keen to help
✅ You don’t have to attend every event
✅ Full training provided!

Come along to the Pāpāmoa Carnival and shadow one of our officials! It’s the perfect way to see what’s involved, ask questions, and get some hands-on experience in a relaxed setting.
