16 New IRB Crew Members

Whilst you don’t see our lifeguards on the beach during the winter months, many of them are busy training and upskilling ready for the summer ahead.

Last month 16 of our lifeguards qualified as Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Crewpersons. The IRBs are used to patrol our beaches and for rescue call outs. The crew members play a vital role in launching the boats from the beach and balancing the boat while in the surf.

Congratulations to all our new IRB Crew – we look forward to seeing you patrolling our beaches next summer.
