Awards of Excellence Finalists Announced
25th June 2024
SLSNZ has announced the Finalists for the Bay of Plenty & Coromandel Awards of Excellence, with Pāpāmoa Surf Life Saving Club members being represented in nearly every category.
Chairperson Jim Pearson says he is incredibly proud of the club and excited to see so many Pāpāmoa names in the list.
“Each and every one of these finalists is deserving of such an accolade,” he says. “We can’t underestimate the hours of time that these people give to the club. And it’s across the board from volunteering lifeguarding hours, as well as training, coaching and instructing our future lifeguards. We also have a very strong group of young surf athletes who are excelling in the surf sport space. Keeping these young adults engaged and maintaining their high level of fitness is no mean feat, and ultimately the goal is to have the fittest, fastest lifeguards looking after our community and beachgoers. We are all very proud,” says Jim.
The club would like to acknowledge the incredible achievement of our finalists and we look forward to celebrating with them at the Awards of Excellence evening being held at the Pāpāmoa Club on 20th July 2024.
