Good Luck Seniors
It’s a big weekend coming up in Whangamata for our senior surf sport athletes.
GOOD LUCK to our 18 seniors who are competing in the Whangamata Classic on Saturday. This event is growing every year with over 30 clubs entering last year. As the big curtain raiser to the season for our senior surf sports team, it’s the chance they’ve been waiting for to showcase the skills they’ve learnt over winter.
A massive CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK to Amelie Pearson who has been selected to take part in the prestigious Invitational event on Sunday. Amelie made the cut from around 150 applicants and will race against New Zealand’s best surf sports athletes as part of Team O’Fee. The eight teams will be led by a selection of New Zealand’s best coaches and team managers, including our own Jake Cowdrey who is coaching Team Crawford and Naomi Davoren who is managing Team Crawford.
And finally, CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK to seniors Trelise Chote, Georgia & Bella Davoren, Maddi Greetham, Jessica Pilbrow, Oliver Pepers, Luke Gillbanks and Zac Cairns who have been selected for the Eastern Region Under 17 Rep Team to race in the Under 17 Regional Challenge, also on Sunday. This is a brand new event and is an intermediary step between club racing and The Invitational.
THANK YOU to our wonderful sponsors below, many of our athletes are racing on brand new boards and skis. They’ll be hard to miss on the beach in our bright blue and yellow club colours…
