2025 Bay of Plenty Champs Rundown
What an epic start to 2025 at the Papamoa Surf Life Saving Club! Hosting the Bay of Plenty Championships for the second year was an absolute honour, and it was heartwarming to see our clubbies rally together to make it a weekend to remember.
From Masters to Seniors to Juniors, the energy and camaraderie on display was inspiring. A massive thank you to everyone who pitched in - whether you were part of the setup/pack-down crew, officiating, providing water safety, first aid, coaching, managing age groups, supporting, patrolling, brewing coffee, or serving at the bar - you all made it happen!
Highlights from the Weekend:
- 88 Papamoa clubbies took to the starting line.
- Juniors braved colder conditions and tough competition to secure the top BOP Junior Club for the third year in a row.
- Seniors fought hard for 3rd overall with many podium finishes and standout age group performances.
- Our Mighty Masters claimed 2nd place in their category.
What's Next? Seniors are gearing up for Whangamata and Red Beach in the coming weeks, followed by the ERCs at the Mount on Anniversary Weekend. Masters will join them at the Mount for the ERCs. Juniors are training hard for their regional pinnacle event at Junior ERCs in Ohope at the start of February.
Well done, team! Weekends like this remind us why we’re forever Papamoa Proud.
