New Zealand Surf Lifesaving Championships

22 Mar

We are exceptionally proud of our Senior Surf Sport Athletes who competed hard out at the recent New Zealand Surf Lifesaving Championships at Mount Maunganui.

The racing schedule meant some of our athletes raced in 10 or more individual and team events a day from heats through to finals. Courses were long, and on some of the days there were no waves on offer to help with the haul back to shore.

The whole team can be very proud of their achievements with many personal goals met. A huge thanks to Coach Jake Cowdrey for his commitment to this group of young athletes.

Thanks to all of our Pāpāmoa officials, water safety and first aid volunteers. Without you this wouldn’t be possible.
