From Rookies to Junior Lifeguards

29 Jun

Five of our junior lifeguards are heading off to Whangamata next week for the Junior Lifeguard School and we’d like to wish them all the best of luck. GOOD LUCK to Carina Roberts, Emily Mardon, James Whitaker, Lockie Cairns and Sean Leach.

The school is for those aged 14 – 16 based in the Eastern Region and is set to be a great opportunity to have some fun, connect with friends from other local clubs and learn more about lifeguarding before next season.

All five of these lifeguards followed the pathway from Rookies which is the stepping stone from Junior Surf into lifeguarding. We couldn’t run our comprehensive Rookies programme without the support of our long term sponsor EVES Real Estate Bay of Plenty - thank you EVES.

Rookies runs over the summer season on Sunday mornings for kids aged 13 and above. It starts up again in October so if you have a child in this age group who is thinking about becoming a lifeguard, take a look at our website for more information - https://papamoalifeguards.co.nz/lifeguarding/rookie-junior-lifeguarding
